HOME REMODELING

DEMOLITION PHASE

Filled five commercial dumpsters during demolition - concrete, bushes, fence, stairs, everything went!

Ripped out almost all interior walls.... and set in new posts and beams. (L) is basement. (R) is kitchen.

Again, ripped out interior walls. (L) between two upstairs bedrooms. (R) above stairs - into attic space.

(L) stairs moved!  (R) poor doggies were so patient!

Lived under plastic forever.  Sometimes even slept under it, like an extra blanket.

This, junky?  Get used to it!

Oh yeah, and big holes in the house, too.  New sliding door off the back, where dining room window used to be.

Digging begins.... drainage must be fixed before tackling the basement.

No more garage.  More digging.

Losing brain cells by the second - painting asphalt emulsion just for fun (after digging 8 feet down into the ground).

(L) More digging.  (R) Troll under bridge.

This was done by machine, thank goodness!

This was not.  (L) laying pipes - rise over run, baby! (R) Chiseled this by hand because the soil was so hard.

The most shallow point of the ditch.

Ash was a trooper - came for a weekend to help throw up a fence to hide our dangerous activities from public view.

Hey look everybody - two girls did this in just a few hours.

(L) kitchen torn up.  (R) Old back door getting filled in.

Kitchen coming together ...

Tile really goes with the blue.

Sheetrock going up downstairs in the basement!  Shower set in for the basement bathroom.

(L) office underway.  (R) downstairs bath underway.

Downstairs bedroom underway.

Downstairs bedroom and bathroom coming together, finally!

Bathroom is put together.  (R) shows experimental texture on office wall.

New front door goes in - only takes all day.

I love my little organic garden.  I do not love my tool room, mostly because it is so organized.

(L) One half o the basement left!  (R) Master bath underway!

(L) master tub underway!  (R) Downstairs bedroom improved.

Office put together, except for flooring, closet doors and trim..

Upstairs coming along nicely.  Just have wood floors and ceiling work left!

Kitchen still needs crown moulding, and family room/living room still needs ceiling patchwork.... how long can I put this off?
